How to model Control Variables in SmartPLS3

Post by snezhina »

Hallo!

I am very new to SmartPLS3 but need to use it for my bachelor thesis. I am replicating a study that used it, otherwise I would not use such a complex method.

The original study included 5 control variables such as age, gender, number of friends, and 2 other variables measured on a 7-Likert scale.
How can I model them in SmartPLS3?

I would be very grateful for any help!

First, it would be a good idea to use the search function. I'm pretty sure that are several discussions about control variables in PLS here.

Then to provide a quick answer: People usually add them as single-indicator constructs (i.e., directly observed variables) into their model.
