Re: Second order construct: Is that possible?

it is theoretically possible and is called MODE C by Chin

it is rarely ever implemented this way

I am using the scores for creating a second order construct. See the two steps approach for high order constructs.
This is one way of using them... also could be standardised and plots constructed.

Read my Research gate contribution and thesis work. PLS handbook chapter online

Enjoy

Re: Second order Constructs

consider reading my chapter in PLS handbook and on Researchgate.

I have done some thesis work in this area too.

enjoy

Re: Question about Hierarchical LV model (about Becker's LRP

Hi

conceptually... always look at the mini conceptual tests of Jarvis, McKenzie (2003).

I have reflective, reflective specifications explained in PLS handbook. See researchgate

Re: Validity and reliability of formative construct

Agreed. CR, Alpha and AVE are a nonsense for formative constructs.

The overall quality and predictive ability of the model is best test.

Re: Moderation effect - the orthogonalizing approach

hi,

this is the superior approach and almost nobody does it.

you need to alter the data before using with PLS. A simple test of orthogonalisation is to run correlations with the constructs of interest and if the are very low score.. that you could state they are close to orthogonalised.

hello,

i doubt this as constraints cannot be made across various model fitting sessions

Re: PLS-MGA: How to dichotomize/split latent variable

Why would you want to do this in the first instance.

you should keep it as a continuous variable and not lose the power in trying to detect the effect

see PLS Handbook chapter Wilson. on researchgate

Re: Formative or Reflective Construct ?

apply Jarvis and McKenzie (2003) conceptual tests to the items and constructs

there are many past scaling efforts that are misspecified

because it is a multiple group model it is estimating two unique models.

Re: How to add error terms

and that is why reliability should be generally much higher in PLS.

I think the low rules of thumb of 0.7 are antiquated for PLS

Re: help with 2nd order construct

hello

you should see my contribution on this in PLS Handbook.

The chapter is on Researchgate

You should keep your analyses at the same level of abstraction if possible too.
