Re: PLS-POS: Pre-segmentation setting
Thank you for the answer, Jan-Michael!
Do you have or know of any empirical tests of this pre-segmentation that give some rules of thumb if one should use it or not?

PLS-POS: Pre-segmentation setting
Hi smartPLS-team,
what is the reasoning behind the pre-segmentation option? Is it to reduce calculation time but at the same time increasing the risk to getting stuck in a local optimum?
Thanks for your support!

Making use of multiple kernels
As I'm currently waiting for my PLS-POS analysis to finish it's calculation (approx. 25 hours), I can add some bits to my wishlist for future releases: Make use of multiple kernels if possible in PLS-POS If that is not possible, being able to do some basic analyses on the other processors (would be ...

Re: MGA Result Discrepancies
Hi Jennifer, you are right with the .379 and -.128. When you talk about "exporting" I guess you mean "how do I report my results?" Then there is a chapter "How to Write Up and Report PLS Analyses" in Vinzi, V.E., Chin, W.W., Henseler, J., Wang, H., 2010. Handbook of Par...

Re: MGA Result Discrepancies
Hi Jennifer, sorry, I missed the file upload. Attached you find my Multigroup-Analysis results of your model. There you find the average -0.128. As it's the nature of bootstrapping the value of any other run will be slightly different. The huge difference between the two yellow cells in row 5 will m...

Re: MGA Result Discrepancies
Hi Jennifer, I had another look into your data because I want to understand the reasoning behind that (if p < 0.05 or p > 0.95) rule. That is explained well in this video: https://youtu.be/l0TfK4z12D8?t=161 the slide shown at this second of the video is all one needs to read to understand the logic ...

Re: MGA Result Discrepancies
oops, sorry for that but your answered clarified some bits for me. Did you maybe switch the order of groups between your tests? e. g. in one run you had the 76 cases as group A and the 37 cases as group B and vice versa in the second test? This would create the pattern you mentioned with p-values on...

Re: MGA Result Discrepancies
Hi Jennifer, If I understand your question correctly you should carefully read about t-tests. Maybe these two links help: http://matheguru.com/stochastik/t-test.html https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zweistichproben-t-Test (from your name I guessed German is okay ;) for your question, p-values below 0,0...

Start multiple calculations with PLS-POS
The way I understand the suggested usage of PLS-POS one should always run the algorithm several times (10 times or more) with the same setup to reduce the risk that the algorithm stops in a low local optimum. The process on how to use PLS-POS as described in Becker, J.-M., Rai, A., Ringle, C.M., Völ...

Be able to select subgroups in PLS-POS
Right now one cannot select the predescribed subgroups in smartPLS to apply the PLS-POS algorithm only to a specific subgroup. Having this would be handsome so I don't have to split my dataset into two files. Another feature I think could be useful is to add PLS-POS segmentation results to the origi...

Re: High Significance but Low R2,f2 and q2 - is this normal?
I think it would help if you would post the model (if you don't want to give away the names, copy the model and change the names). right now it is hard to exactly tell what you have, especially since you talk about variables only and not about constructs at all.

Remove focus when exporting models as image
when exporting I suggest to remove the focus from any construct (the black border around the construct as shown in the screenshot). I know one can easily do this manually but doing it automatically would reduce frustration if you see that you forgort to remove the focus only after some days.

Re: Latent variable (two-way) connection?
Such relationsships cannot be modeled with PLS according to page 16 of Hair, J.F., Hult, G.T.M., Ringle, C.M., Sarstedt, M., 2014. A Primer on Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. Sage, Los Angeles. PLS can only work recursive models (that don't have causal loops or circular relations...

Function to make equal spaces between indicators
I love the new options to align indicators. What I would like to see is an option to have several objects be aligned so that the space between all obejcts is equal. In Powerpoint it is called "Horizontal verteilen" (or vertical; sorry don't have the english version at hand)
