There really are no "real" goodness-of-fit statistics in PLS. However, squared multiple correlations (R2) of your dependent variables allow you check overall model fit. For example, Chin(1998) calls an R2 of ~.66 substantial, ~.35 moderate and ~.17 weak model fit. Beyond that you can check...

Kehan, provided your path coefficients (X->Y and Z*X->Y) are both significant (Z->Y will likely not be), your results indicate a strong moderating effect of Z on the X->Y relationship. Chin (1998) provides the following interpretation of the Z*X->Y path coefficient: 0.25 is the X->Y path coefficient...

A potential approach

I am interested in the same issue. However, despite extensive search, I have not been able to identify any literature that addresses this problem. Looking at the way interaction terms are created in purely reflective and purely formative models, two possible alternatives seem reasonable: A) Creating...

Calculate cross-loadings in SmartPLS 2.0

Christian, after a little reading I was able to figure out a way to calculate cross-loadings based on SmartPLS 2.0M2 output. To make things easier, I've built a little Excel tool to do the trick. Here's the link for those who are interested (quick & dirty, but works): http://www.is-outsourcing-s...

Excel-sheet to calculate cross-loadings

Hi all,

given the lack of a cross-loadings feature in SmartPLS 2.0M2, I've built a little Excel tool to do the trick based on SmartPLS output.

You can download it here: http://www.is-outsourcing-survey.org/PL ... adings.xls

Enjoy!

Excel?

Christian, thank you for your swift reply. Not sure how long this would take, but would you mind pointing me into the right direction on how to calculate - Stone-Geisser Q-square and (more importantly) - Crossloadings using current SmartPLS 2.0M2 Output and Excel? I'd be happy to do it (and post a c...

An alternative way for second order factors

CHIN recommends the following procedure:
Simply assign to the 2nd order LV all the indicators of the 1st order LVs belonging to that 2nd order LV.
Maybe that helps...
Cheers,
Stefan

Note: LV - Latent Variable

Indicating Significance

It may seem trivial, but I'd really love to see automatic significance indicators for paths and indicators (the little "*", "**" and "***" seen in journal articles) in the model graphic after a bootstrapping run. At the moment you have to go into the bootstrapping repor...

Quality statistics - Release date for next SmartPLS release?

Given some of your feature announcements (quality-statistics, cross-loading, etc.), I am anxiously awaiting your next SmartPLS release. Hence, I was wondering, if you have already set/ communicated a release date. Could you specify a likely timeframe? Btw - great work on the software so far! Regards...
