Solution 4

I added a special version of SmartPLS (for Windows only) in the download section that already includes a proper java runtime. Give it a try, if you get stuck with the other solutions.

Hi,

currently there is no way to assign weights this way.

Kind regards

Hi,

in the new software version, which will be released soon, you will be able to choose your workspace directory on startup.

With the current version, the workspace directory is fix and cannot be changed.

Kind regards

Hi,
I think having the correct Java-Version (1.4.1).
SmartPLS 2.0 requires Java 2 Standard-Edition Runtime Environment (J2SE JRE), version 5.0 or higher.

Hi Niels, So what do you mean by "Please try to change your systems settings so that your home directoy points into a real directoy (e.g. d:\home or c:\documents and settings\username)"? If I set "My Documents" and "Desktop" back to the C: drive and restart the computer...

You are right. I thought you were talking about two different bootstrap runs, which cause the same results. So we have two bugs here. The one I described and the "randomness" problem, you describe. At the moment, the random numbers in SmartPLS are generated using the standard Java random n...

Hi Stefan, thanks for your efforts - it seems, you become one of our best debuggers! ;) I just took a look into our program code and really found a problem. But the problems you described are not caused by a lack of "randomness". In fact, there is a bug within the report viewer. When you c...

it is very easy. You just have to drag and drop the indicators from the list to your latent variables.

We are planning to display the "significance level" by default.

But in SmartPLS you are able to configure the result types that should be displayed in the graphical model. So if you decide to display the T-values - that will be possible, too!

Hi,

there are no limitations at all, concerning the 3 things you mentioned.

The only limitation are the system resources (memory, CPU), which could be a bottleneck, if you are planning to calculate very big models with SmartPLS.

Kind regards

I think, we could do that but it depends on the support of the community. ;) Actually I don´t have the corresponding literature at my fingertips.
