Dear Ed, the PLS methodology – as extensively statistically described by Lohmöller ( http://forum.smartpls.com/viewtopic.php?t=16 ) - and the results produced appear reasonable to me. The case that you described never happened in my research efforts and is not a common PLS behaviour. However, someti...

Hi, at the moment, it is possible to import different data into a certain project. As long as the names for the variables are identical, you can measure a certain model for group 1 (first set of data), then for group two (second set of data) and so on. For example, split the data for the ECSI model ...

Hi,

second order factor: if this is supposed to be a latent variable in the structural model that has no indicators, it is not possible to model and calculate such models in SmartPLS.

Hi, you have to be online to activate SmartPLS but not to work with it later on. The activation key is principally good for only one installation on a certain system. If you install SmartPLS on another system, your key does not function. Please read the SmartPLS-Beta-Agreement for details on our act...

Hi,

you are right! We did not include this option in the current version - for no special reason. In the next release, we plan to implement additional evaluation criteria and take care that the cross loadings will be incluaded, again.

Hi, please make sure that you use text only for the cells in the first row (variable names). All other cells must be filled with numbers - even if you have missing values (just choose a specific number to indicate missing values, e.g. -999). However, using correctly prepared data as decribed above, ...

Hi,

I actually have no idea how ordinal or dummy variables can possibly be used for the basic PLS-algorithm by Wold. This does not look to good to me...

However, any suggestions for modifications of the algorithm are welcome and my be discussed here.
