in my view coefficients from different models are not compar

Hi all, I think it is actually not possible to compare coefficients of different model estimations (different samples). In my view, this does only make sense if the coefficients' size has an absulte meaning (like a mean value for instance). However, as I see it, coefficients resulting from different...

I found the reason. I was using the old version and cross loadings have newly been added to the upgraded M3 version ...

thanks again

Sorry, it's me again. My output does not show cross loadings (neither the PLS Report nor the html version).
Did you change any settings to get them?
My html report ends with latent variable scores.
thanks

Thanks. I have done this already but additionally I would like to see the cross loadings - just to get an impression. However, I could not find them in the output (am I blind??). Where do I find the cross loadings?
thanks

cross loadings - discriminant validity

Hi, a simple question:

I need cross loadings since I want to check discriminant validity.
How can I get them in PLS (or should I perform a Factor Analysis to get them)?

thanks a lot

Hi Bido and ..., thanks a lot. Q. 2: In case I wanted to model the interaction effect with PLS: Would I have to standardize the indicators for the interaction variable or could I also do it without standardization? Obviously the outcomes are quite different. If I use standardized (or centered) indic...

mediating & interaction effect, standardization, PLS-Lis

Dear All, I have the variables X1, X2, and X3 in my modell (all influencing Y). X1 also influences X2 and X3 (mediating effects) and I assume an interaction effect between X2 and X3. (All indicators in my model are reflective.) 1. Since X1 affects X2 and X3 do I also have to include a path from X1 t...

Thank you, however, if I use the global fit index proposed by Tenenhaus et al. it is still only a descriptive comparison, isn't it? And, I am not sure, if this global fit index does consider model complexity (like for instance AIC does)? So wouldn't I actually end up with a similar comparison like t...

comparison of the fit of two models

Dear Users, I would like to compare two models and show that model A is better than model B. Model B can be interppreted as a part of model A - so the models can be seen as nested models. The only measure of model fit I can find in PLS is R-square: - thus, unfortunately I could only do a descriptive...

Thank you very much for your reply. By saying it only works for the reflexive model I mean that when I use a formative model the procedure stops and the following message is provided: "A singular matrix occured during the estimation of the outer weights of a block. using more indicators could s...

still formative if weights of reflexive calcul. are used?

Dear Smart-PLS users and experts, I have the following problem and would be happy if someone could help me. In a datafile I am working with - with 3 formative measurement models - bootstrapping does only work, if I do not use the fomative but reflexive models. I have 2 questions 1. The boostrapping ...

Problem with bootstrapping for formative model

Hi Bootstrapping does not work if I include my formative measurement models. The program says: "A singular matrix occured during the estimation of the outer weights of a block. Using more indicatators could solve the problem". However, I do not think that the number of indicators is critic...

comparison of path coefficients

Hi, I would like to test if one path coefficient (e.g. b1) is bigger than another (b2). Usually I would use (after Regression): t=b1-b2/(varb1+varb2-2covb1b2)^0,5 Is this test possible with PLS coefficients, too? Unfortunately the covariance is not provided - or does PLS assume the Cov to be zero? T...

Re: Indicators don't show up for me either

This happened to me, too. The problem was that one of my variables in the data file was not numerical. After removing this variable it was o.k.

good luck!
