Discriminant validity of formative constructs

Dear PLS-Team, In their recent article "A new criterion for assessing discriminant validity in variance-based structural equation modeling" (Henseler/Ringle/Sarstedt, 2015: 131) state: Prior literature gives practically no recommendations on how to assess the discriminant validity of forma...

Re: Multiple mediation

The book on PLS-SEM includes a chapter on (multiple) mediation: Hair, J. F., Hult, G. T. M., Ringle, C. M., & Sarstedt, M. (2017). A Primer on Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. 2nd Ed. Thousand Oaks: Sage. https://us.sagepub.com/sites/default/files/styles/sage_thumbnail_width_...

Re: IPMA negative importance

To compare importance in absolute terms to the positive importances you may just switch the sign, but have to be careful with the interpretation and conclusions. I am not sure what you mean by the above. In case I have a negative importance value (e.g. -0.3) I just use the value 0.3 for interpretat...

Re: IPMA negative importance

Dear Prof. Becker, To me negative importance of an exogenous LV (e.g. -0.35) indicates that a one point increase in the performance of the LV leads to a decrease in the endogenous LV's performance by -0.35. But what exactly does this mean for related management activities? Do not invest in such acti...

FIMIX-PLS vs PLS-POS

Dear All, My PLS-model includes 4 formative exogenous LVs and three reflective endogenous LVs. Following the recommendations of Becker et al. (2013): Discovering Unobserved Heterogeneity in Structural Equation Models to Advert Validity Threats. MIS Quarterley, 37(3): 665-694, I applied PLS-POS to te...

Hi,

Just to give you a quick reply, JAMS (= Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science) where you can find the article on HTMT (http://link.springer.com/article/10.100 ... 014-0403-8)

Re: HTMT in smartPLS 3

Dear Mr. Ringle,

Thank you for your reply. Do you have any recommendations on how to report HTMT in a PhD thesis. Shall I include just the results (e.g. HTMT matrix and confidence intervalls) or also the inter-item correlation matrix?

Best regards,
Judith

Re: HTMT in smartPLS 3

Dear All, In my model I have four reflective constructs (including one moderator variable) plus four formative constructs, where the reflective constructs are the dependent variables (DV) respectively moderator variables (MV) and the formative are the independent variables. The assessment of discrim...

Collinearity Outer Model

Dear All, In my basic model I have 3 endogenous latent variables (DV_1, DV_2 and DV_3) and 4 exogenous latent variables each measured by 5 indicators (IV_1, IV_2, IV_3 and IV_4). Reflective measurement models have been chosen for the DV’s and formative for the IV’s. IV_2 indicators are 5 multiplicat...

Re: Collinearity Statistic

Dear All,

I was just wondering whether you are using R2 or the corrected R2 for the calculation of VIF values shown in the output of smartpls 3.0.

Many thanks in advance for your reply.

Best regards,
Judith

From: http://forum.smartpls.com/viewtopic.php?t=1882 why don't you try the SmartPLS download with the Java JRE "embedded"? --> see download or click on this link: http://forum.smartpls.com/downloads/smartpls/smartpls_2.0.M3_win32.win32.x86_including_jre.zip Best regards, Bido I face the s...
