Dear Christian, I have just run the model following your guidelines. I also run the model using the "average" solution. The results of the 2 different solutions are almost the same. In both solutions however the R2 for the 2nd order LVs are 1. Thank you all for you kind help and especially...

Dear Christian, It is hard to explain how happy i am at the moment as i am starting to get a solution to my problem. I have one last minor question. You mention: ad 1) I would put every second order model in his own calculation model. Afterward you have three models for calculation. Two for your two...

Dear Christian, Thank you very much for your kind help. I am struggling to find a solution to my problem but it is the first feedback i got so far so you can understand how valuable it is. For the application of this method every first order construct should be measured with the same numbers of indi...

Dear all, I followed this most interesting discussion and (unfortunately) several questions made up my mind. I have already estimated my model but following the present discussion i figure out that probably it is wrong. What I am trying to do is conceptualize perceived value as a second order format...

Causes of low t-values

Dear all, First i would like to apologize as during the last days i keep on opening new topic and asking questions. I am developing a number of constructs which all share the same characteristics: Second order formative ones in order to assess perceived value. (Benefits and sacrifices for 1st order ...

Dear Christian,

My model is already a second order formative one.

The criterion is not met for two 1st order latent variables.

Christian and Michel thank you very much. I have checked cross-loadings and they are ok. The loadings are also very good (above .80 for most of the cases and 0.75 for a couple of indicators). So you would suggest that according to this there is discriminant validity although the Fornell-Larcker crit...

Hey Christian, Thank you very much for your quick reply. In the meanwhile i had already compute based on your way. Another question arises though. Just found out that in one case the AVE is smaller than a latent variable correlation by 0.05. The two latents are significantly distant in terms of mean...

Fornell-Larcker criterion

Probably a really silly question but i would like to confirm that i am on the right path.

In order to assess the Fornell-Larcker criterion due i use the results presented in the table "Latent Variable Correlations" then square them and compare them to the AVE?

Developing Second Order Formative Constructs

Dear all, First given the change i would like once more to thank everyone in this forum as it is extremely helpful. Its been only some time ago that i got involved in pls in a effort to build a second order formative construct to measure perceived value. Unfortunately i am not very familiar with SEM...

Measuring the same latent variable with different indicators

Dear all, I am running a survey in order to measure perceived value. The sample is consistent by two types of companies (A and B). The indicators used for the two types of business are matching 90%. But there are 3 indicators that are slightly different. For example in type A companies the question ...

A question about validity

Dear all, First of all i would like to thank you all as your posts in the forum are really helpful especially for a newbie in PLS as I am. I am finalizing my phd thesis and i would like some help regarding the validity of my construct. First I have to tell you that i am mostly specialized in qualita...
