Re: Discriminant validity inquiry
Hi jmbecker, As the result for HTMT is also very close to the threshold of 0.85, I would conclude as a reviewer that discriminant validity is not given for the two constructs and therefore would question the validity of the findings. Would it be a problem if the lack of discriminant validity was abo...

Re: How to deal with multicollinearity in SmartPLS
I'd like to hear what people think about it.
I've got a similar issue but with HTMT, not VIF

Re: Construct operationalisation
Hi, I think the whole conceptualisation is confusing TBH--and, probably the methodology. So, you will assess learning outcomes before and after. How will you do this? It sounds like an experiment, which means you will need to find participants who do not know anything (or have not already developed)...

Is HTMT above 1.00 really a problem?
Hello, In my study, I've got several latent variables. Three of them (say A, B, C) are connected via a reflective model to a fourth latent variable D and D along with another one E form a new latent variable F. B, C have four indicators, A, E have three and D has one. Now, when I check for discrimin...

Re: Latent variables with one indicator only
Secondly if the construct is measureanle by one indicator then what's the point to go with measurement model . I think it should directly be measured with regression equation I suspect that with one indicator per construct, PLS equates to regression analysis. You can test this. Create a regression ...

Re: sample size
How many latent variables do you have?
The sample size is very small for practical conclusions.

Re: PLS-SEM Multigroup Analysis for panel data
I always struggled with this decision as well. So, what helps me decide if to think about what exactly i want to investigate. A MGA will show you how all path correlations in the model are affected whereas moderation analysis focuses only on the moderator. People also argue that the theory can help ...

Re: Confirming Hypothesis with MGA on 3 groups
You can do MGA analysis in smartPLS with more than two categories.

Re: PLS-SEM Multigroup Analysis for panel data
Hi, I think it is more appropriate to do a moderation analysis, which the scenario being the moderator. The scenario works as the context of the responses and empirically can be captured by a separate dummy variable. MGA doesn't seem to fit logically in your study. But you can run an analysis of bot...

Rule of 10 in Sample Size and Higher Order Constructs
Hi there, The rule of thumb about sample size indicates that the sample should be at least 10 times larger than the larger number of structural paths towards a construct. All the papers I read about this assume a model with low order constructs. How does this rule apply when you have higher order co...

Do I need hypotheses in exploratory studies with PLS-SEM?
Hello, All the books and papers I have read and models people use to demonstrate PLS-SEM introduce hypotheses between the latent variables following relevant objectives. Moreover, PLS-SEM is often promoted as suitable methodology for exploratory studies. However, in exploratory studies, we do not fo...

High Reliability Organisations Theory and PLS-SEM
Hi there,
Has anyone used PLS-SEM with high reliability theory?
I need some advice about how to formulate the PLS-SEM model.
Thanks
John
