MGA and MICOM
Dear all, I'm working on a research project with data time series. Would anyone like me to help a hand? First, to be sure how to perform the pre-analysis concerning MGA (time point 1 an 2) and, second, to examine cross lagged relationships using SmartPLS. The data collected concerns initially two HO...

Re: Time series data
Dear Professor Ringle, I want to apply the PLS-SEM approach for a CLPA study with data from two time points, where I investigate the contribution of Relationship Quality (five dimensions that form a HOC) on Student Engagement and Student Loyalty. In two other studies, one among enrolled higher educa...

Re: Mediation analysis using Smart PLS
Dear dr. Becker, Thank you for your reply. I meant the latter, so thank you for your answer. However, it is still puzzling to me: When I include the mediating variables and draw direct paths from IV's to DV, the SmartPLS output show significant paths for some of the IV's with DV when I look at the T...

total indirect effects or total effect in (multiple) mediation
Dear all, When doing a (multiple) mediation analysis, I got confused whether I should use the smartpls-output value of the total indirect effect or the total effect? In the model the values for the c-path (from IV to DV) differ; one is significant (total indirect effect) and the other one is not (to...

Re: Mediation analysis using Smart PLS
You should also connect the IVs and the DVs in your structural model. A mediation analysis is then conducted by looking at the indirect effects from each IV via the mediator to each DV. Your mediation hypothesis is confirmed if this indirect effect is significant. If the direct effect of IV on DV i...

correlational/causal language in PLS-SEM reporting
With PLS-SEM the aim is to predict. What kind of language do you have to use in reporting the study design and analyses: correlational or causal? I thought the latter.

negative sample mean value
Dear all,
What does a negative sample mean value implies (while the relationship between constructs is expected to be a positive one)?

Mediation with two HCM's and multiple endogenous variables
Hi, The model under examination contains two HCM's (in theory), one of them as mediator, followed by a two endogenous variables. In what order do I have to execute the IPMA and mediator analysis and testing of the second order structures? To give you a better idea of the model: A = HCM with 5 subdim...

Dear Dr. Becker,
Thank you very much for your reply! Fortunately it is about reflective measures, so it sure seems alright.

VIF values
What does it mean when the inner and/or outer VIF values are to high? How to report and does it mean that the measurement model is insufficient and therefore bootstrapping the model as is, is not appropriate? Looking for an answer. Thank you!

two HOC's in one structural model, is that possible?
Hello, is it possible to have two HOC's in one structural model? Does this have influence on the effect size of one HOC on the other HOC?
