Re: PLS algorithm versus bootstrapping
Hi, In regard to what Mr Vivek said. I understand the what each is used for (PLS Algorithm and Bootstrapping) But what exactly is PLS Algorithm? I realized I know we use it for mostly the reflective measurement model, then we get our rsquare for our structural model from the PLS algorithm. And Boots...

Re: Redundancy Analysis - Negative path coefficient
Thank you for your input Dr. Jan-Michael Becker!
I decided to remove the negative item from the construct. After much discussion with my supervisors, I felt the item was open to being misunderstood by the respondents.
Many thanks,
Priyanka

Re: Redundancy Analysis - Negative path coefficient
Hey all, Firstly thanks for your insights Dr. Jan-Michael Becker! I have one more question. Why is there are a negative value in the MMSPR2 item on the left construct (which is the formative construct) after running PLS Algorithm? (please refer to image attached) The item is measured on a 7 point li...

Gender a moderator on SmartPLS 3
Hi all, How does one make a gender a moderator in a direct relationship? For instance in the diagram attached. How would we make gender a moderator between air travel risk perception and mas brand image? I have tried using the PLS textbook but it mostly guides for SmartPLS 2.0. I would appreciate so...

R SQ TESTING DIRECT RELATIONSHIPS (PLEASE HELP)
Hi there, My question is with R square. My supervisor commented for my direct relationships : 1. ATRP --> MBI 2. MSP --> MBI She said: It seems odd though to have the same R square for 2 paths. I get 0.377. But this is the way I was taught to test direct relationships. To run PLS algorithm after dra...

Re: Redundancy Analysis - Negative path coefficient
Hi Sanaz, I wasn't looking at the structural model. My question was related to the measurement model. In your case, I can't comment on the mediation. From what I understand, your question is regarding the structural model. Your path coefficient shows a negative value. Meaning: Distraction and satisf...

Confused: What is theory development and theory testing?
Hi Guys, I know this is a very very rudimentary question (forgive me). However the more I read the more I get confused. In my model, I use PMT theory to guide my study. PMT studies which studied risk found that risk influences intentions. And a recent study found that image mediates risk and intenti...

Redundancy Analysis - Negative path coefficient
Hi there, For the formative measurement model, I conducted redundancy analysis. So I made the formative construct the IV and the reflective version of the same construct as a DV. I was getting a positive path coefficient when my sample was 140. When I ran the data again with a sample of 200, my redu...

SmartPLS 3 Miniature box [Quick One]
Hi all, I have a very simple question. In the Path model window when you draw your model - a small box appears showing your whole model but a miniature version in the small box. I have attached a image. The box sometimes gets in the way. Is there any way to turn it off? Thanks so much, Priyanka

Re: Control Variable on SmartPLS 3.0
Hi Sir, Thanks for your message. If I want to use control variables, is my method correct on SmartPLS? Software wise. Is this how you make a control variable, by pointing it at the endogenous construct? Say I want to control for age for more than one construct, do I just use two arrows from age poin...

Control Variable on SmartPLS 3.0
Hi, From what I understand, we have to point all control variables at all the endogenous contructs. My model is testing only direct relationships. I have attached my path model on SmartPLS 3.0. I just have one simple question, have I set my control variables correctly in my path model? In my model: ...

Re: Confusion with convergent validity with formative measur
Thank you Dr Ringle. I did the first option and I got a path coefficient of 0.675. Does this mean my formative construct does not have convergent validity? I did: VIF (no issue, all below 5), t-test of outer weights (some were NS after bootstrapping for a two tail test with 0.05 sig level) t test of...

Re: I can't upload my data, despite saving it as csv.
Hey guys, Just wanted to report back to this brilliant support community. I realized one variable was causing the problem: income. Despite saving my data as CSV on spss, for some reason there were comma's separating the zeros in some cells of the monthly income variable. Anyway, after resolving this...

Re: I can't upload my data, despite saving it as csv.
I also want to ask, does it make a significant difference if you save your data on spss as csv Scenario 1: What if someone does all the data cleaning on SPSS and copies all the data to excel and then saves to csv? Scenarior 2: And say you have past data that you have already used on SmartPLS 3.0. Sa...
