Re: Prediction-Oriented Segmentation in PLS-SEM (PLS-POS)
Dear Professor Christian Thank you for your feedback. For my data, they do not contain missing values. As such, casewise deletion or mean value replacement does not apply. I took heed of your advice and re-run the PLS-POS based on 4 segments: FAIL 1. Groups = 4 2. Maximum iterations = 800 3. Search ...

Re: Prediction-Oriented Segmentation in PLS-SEM (PLS-POS)
Screen Shot 2015-09-30 at 8.17.10 am.png I am getting this error message frequently when I run PLS-POS on SmartPLS 3. I tested various combinations of the settings based on a sample size of 1230 : FAIL 1. Groups = 5 2. Maximum iterations = 2000 3. Search depth = 300 FAIL 1. Groups = 5 2. Maximum it...

Re: how to include control variables
Dear Dr. Becker
Will you kindly comment on the discussion found at viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3901 ?
Both of us are attempting to apply PLS-POS into our study.
Thank you.

Re: Prediction-Oriented Segmentation in PLS-SEM (PLS-POS)
Dear Jan If we apply your approach, how do we determine which respondents are in which segments? I'm very confused by this particular step. How do you determine what go into each segment? My understanding is that we use PLS-POS to break up the number of segments that we need. And then use the result...

Re: Prediction-Oriented Segmentation in PLS-SEM (PLS-POS)
Hi Jan Please help me understand your approach. Is it in the following sequence? 1. Run PLS-POS from 1 Segments to 10 Segments. From each result, it is to get the group breakdowns so that we update the datafile within SmartPLS. 2. Then with the new datafile, we run PLS-MGA to check against the p val...

Screen Shot 2015-08-28 at 11.23.58 am.png Based on using PLS-MGA to determine the significance of relationships across the respondents' profiles, I was able to develop this matrix to give a visual interpretation on determining significant effects based on demographics. As explained below... Multigr...

When running PLS-POS, we have to select the number of segments. Thus, if we select 4 segments, the results will pr...

Re: how to include control variables
Instead of introducing control variables, a recommended approach is to consider the respondents' profiles.
Based on the demographics, separate into different groups. For example, gender, age, location, friends, etc.
Thereafter, run PLS-MGA to check for significant differences.

Re: Non-Response Bias
In the latest SmartPLS 3, when you run the PLS-MGA, it automatically removes the need to check for Levene's test.
We just need to see the p value to determine the significance of the difference in the path coefficients of the two groups of data.
** p<0.05 or p>0.95

Re: Prediction-Oriented Segmentation in PLS-SEM (PLS-POS)
The paper used the word segment, which is the number of pre-defined segments for which the segmentation will be performed. After running PLS-POS on SmartPLS 3, it produces 4 different groups since I selected "4 Groups". But when I ran PLS-MGA, I had to select number of groups in Groups A a...
