show progress when doing multiple calculations/autoscroll
when doing multiple MGAs at a time I have three wishes: 1) show which number of comparison is currently caluclated (e. g. "Calculating 4 of 10 comparisons") 2) when one scrolls up in the calculation log while calculation is still running, it always hops down to the latest line immediatelly...

Re: LnL Calculation in FIMIX
Hi Michael, i managed to recalculate the LnL for 1-segment solutions but for two segments I still struggle. I tested my 2 segment solution with a fake solution (all values equal) and I come up with correct LnL-values as I get it, if I calculate values for 1 segment solution in smartPLS. If I insert ...

Re: LnL Calculation in FIMIX
Hi Michael, thanks for your input. I managed to solve that for my simple model (two exogeneous variables pointing to one endogeneous variable) but now struggle with a slightly more complex model: model.png Service Satisfaction is clearly exogeneous and brand loyalty is endogeneous. From my understan...

LnL Calculation in FIMIX
I am trying to calculate the log likelihood from FIMIX in Excel based on Hahn, C.; Johnson, M. D.; Herrmann, A.; et al. (2002): „Capturing customer heterogeneity using a finite mixture PLS approach“. In: Schmalenbach Business Review. 54 (3), S. 243–269. but so far i haven't manage to do the calculat...

Re: Sample Research Articles that used SmartPLS
why don't you do a reverse search with google scholar
this is the result for smartpls 2.0 (beta)

Re: repeated measurements with PLS-PM
you might want to check this paper, Mittal, V.; Kumar, P.; Tsiros, M. (1999): „Attribute-Level Performance, Satisfaction, and Behavioral Intentions over Time: A Consumption-System Approach“. In: Journal of Marketing. 63 (2), S. 88–101, DOI: 10.2307/1251947. it's not PLS (from cross reading it (again...

Using Fit indices ex-post?
Hi there, can I use the FIMIX fit indices such as AIC in ex-post analyses? E. g. I have my overall sample and split it by gender. Then I run FIMIX with 1 segment for the overall-group and for both gender groups and compare the AIC-values. If the AIC is lower for both gender-groups compared to the ov...

Hi Alex,
SG, Jan

Re: COMPOSITES vs COMMON FACTORS, MICOM?
hi Peter, you ask excellent questions. To put it simple, I would say that the diversion from formative/reflective towards composite/common factor is a still ongoing discussion between the methodolgists that advance PLS. Now I see three types of PLS users: the first group just take the existings meth...

Re: PLS-MGA P-Value
Hi there, that is the difference between one- and two-sided tests: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One-_and_two-tailed_tests If you have the assumption that group A has a higher value than group B, you make a one sided test and look only for values smaller than 0.05. If you only have the assumption th...

Handling of ordinal variables
Hi smartPLS-developers! Are there any plans or a time line for implementing the proposed algorithm as proposed here: Schuberth, F., Henseler, J., & Dijkstra, T. K. (2016). Partial least squares path modeling using ordinal categorical indicators. Quality & Quantity. http://doi.org/10.1007/s11...

Re: measurement model validation in a scientific paper
I would say yes, because it could be the case that for men or women some constructs are not defined clearly. But I'm also curious what others think about this question.

Re: COMPOSITES vs COMMON FACTORS, MICOM?
hi there, I know this post is quite old, but right now I am thinking about the same issues and would be glad to see some experts join the discussion. A good source for further reading should be this paper (it actually has a literal quote of your question in it ;): Estimation issues with PLS and CBSE...

Re: negative outer loadings
Hi Ingrid,
could be that the scale of the indicators is reversed (e. g. all scales from 1 = good to 5= bad, and for those negative ones (5=good, and 1 = bad) or that you are having problems with multicollinarity (use the forum's search for that topic).
hope that helps!
