Re: Holdout Sample calculation
Dear All, You say that R2 values of the sample and the holdout sample should be fairly equal. Some breaf questions please: 1- Is there any reference / rule of thumb for assessing what is considered to be "fairly equal"? 2- If R2 values look too different, I guess the predictive validity wo...

Re: multigroup in smartpls 3 professional
Dear all, The problem seems to be in my database, even if it´s completely green. I had some semicolons at the end of some rows, and these semicolons created new columns (it can be seen cliking "raw file" while the database is opened). All the celds (except the first arrow) must be numeric ...

Re: how to test my hypotheses using smartPLS?
Hi, You might want to take a look to this quite new book, it´s a hands-on book, it´s based on smartPLS2 but if you work with smartPLS3 you can also get your goal. It´s a great book, it´s written step by step what it should be done, from the very beginning untill the end: "A primer on Partial Le...

multigroup in smartpls 3 professional
Dear all, I´m trying to conduct a Multi-Group (2 groups) analysis in "smartpls3 professional". I had 4 questions in my questionnaire related to these topic, and I have done the median split. I have created in my database a new column (variable),and in these column each menber of the sample...

Dear all, In my case it is not natural (like gender), and I want to split the data into two with my own criteria. I guess I have to keep in mind that I need the minimun simple size in both sub-samples. I will read chapter 9 of Gastón Sánchez free e-book (Frank, that might help you too), it talks abo...

importing from smartPLS to R(plspm)--> error in "rea
Dear all, I am trying to import my smartPLS results to R. I have already import the file path and the file itself, but now I am having problems making R read the model properly. My file is called "NOWP190514". I have writen in the R console: model <- read.splsm(file=NOWP190514filePath) The...

Dear Frank, I have the same question. I also have 4 ítems (Likert 1-5) which would allow me divide the sample(200) into 2: I have done this: calculate the mean value of the 4 ítems for every respondant. Then calculate the median (with Excel). The problema is that the median is 3,25 and there are 20 ...

multigroup: median--> what to do with the borderline case
Dear all, I want to conduct a MULTIGROUP analysis, but I have not a categorical variable. Instead, I have 4 items (Likert 1-5) which define a variable called "moment of entry (ME)". This variable would allow me divide my sample (200) into 2 groups: pioneers (P) and followers (F). The mean ...

Likert scale: odd or even?
Dear all, I wonder if it´s better to design an odd or an even Likert scale to be afterwards used in smartPLS. With even (for example from 1 to 6) likert scales you do not allow the respondants to place themselves in the middle-point, so I guess it might be better in terms of getting more differences...

Hi Mr. Hengkov and others, I don´t know exactly how is it called, I don´t think it´s a moderating effect, I just wanna test that the effect of each of the six latent variables in the other (that would be the seventh, it´s called performance) latent variable is different depending on the firms being ...
